PoE Transmission over 250 Meters
A common problem experienced by installers when setting up an IP surveillance solution is cable length limitations. The standard PoE cabling distance is 100 meters (328 feet). However, PoE devices are often located at longer distances from the nearest network switch or power outlet, requiring an extra repeater or switch in the field site.

Extend your PoE range to up to 250 meters with EtherWAN's PoE switches
When Extend Mode is enabled, a single PoE port can support a transmission distance of 250 meters. No further hardware or configuration is necessary, easy-to-use and cost-saving.

- Eliminates need for additional switches or repeaters for long distance connections

Note :

When PoE extended mode is enabled, please also set the end device to “force-10Mbps full duplex” to cooperate with the switch.
It is suggested to pre-test the function before deployment. The maximum available transmission distance of PoE depends on the negotiation result of PD and PSE. Some PDs using EtherWAN PoE/PSE switches may only support a standard distance of 100 meters. Contact EtherWAN if assistanee is needed.

Benefits of EtherWAN's PoE scheduling
24/7 operation time of a PoE Powered Device can be problematic for several reasons. Supplying power to a device that does not need to be in certain periods wastes energy. Additionally, there may be security risks associated with some devices being “always on” (for example, wireless access points).

- Security Consideration
To prevent wireless access from being available outside of business hours.

- Cost & Energy Efficiency
Automatically turn off devices such as cameras located in areas that are not security sensitive outside of business hour or on weekends.

Support PoE Force mode
Some Powered Devices are not strictly compliant with IEEE 802.3 af/at, the Power over Ethernet standard. These include some IP cameras, IP phones and Wi-Fi APs, which may require higher power or non-standard resistance and capacitance.

- Increases device support versatility and system applicability
Providing power to PoE devices even when they are not IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant and high power PD devices such as outdoor Wi-Fi access points or outdoor PTZ cameras.

How PoE Watchdog works
Surveillance systems commonly require full-time operation, and there is no easy way for an administrator to know if a device goes down.

- Security guard (failsafe for critical applications )
Automatically check and reboot Powered Devices when camera does not respond, allowing the administrator to reduce urgency and frequency of troubleshooting.

6KV Surge Immunity
Power surges caused by indirect lightning strikes can damage or destroy network systems and can cause costly downtime. In addition to the protection of the power supply system, data ports need to be safeguarded against electrical surges.

6KV surge protection prevents electrical damage to the Ethernet port caused by sudden power surges, thus helping ensure the reliability of data transmission, and avoid unexpected damage to equipment.
