EtherWAN to Release New Hardened-Grade Wireless Connectivity

Overview

EtherWAN announces the release of two new Wireless Access Points which support Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality; the WA4281 Hardened IP68 rated and the WA4271 Industrial IP65 rated Wireless Devices. The new PoE hardened Wireless Devices, in support of IEEE 802.11 a/b/g, will address the needs of mission critical environments where pulling extra cable is restricted.

The addition of the WA4280 and WA4271 expands EtherWAN's product line and complements the SW5400 serial to Ethernet wireless device. The SW5400, Industrial 1-port Serial to Wireless Device Server, is designed to support serial to Ethernet protocol transmission using Wi-Fi communication and has been deployed in a riverbank application in Europe. The SW5400 Wireless Device Servers are installed on both sides of the river, coupled with the WA4281 outdoor access point to provide communications for a ship flow control system.
