EtherWAN Systems, Inc. (hereinafter, “EtherWAN”), recognizes and understands that its business activities and products it supplies may impact the society, environment, and EtherWAN. Accordingly, EtherWAN, in collaboration with its manufacturing division, works, to be a socially responsible business, specifically in the area of Conflict Minerals.
The definition of Conflict Minerals includes, but is not limited to, rare metals such as tinstone, wolframite, coltan, gold and their derivatives, especially gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), and tungsten (W), which are sourced from Conflict Regions, (hereinafter “Conflict Minerals”).
The term “Conflict Regions” is defined as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Republic of Sudan, Republic of South Sudan, Republic of Uganda, Republic of Rwanda, Republic of Burundi, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Zambia, Republic of Angola, Central African Republic; and any current or future country/region which includes a part of or all territories of the foregoing countries.
Related to the prohibition of sourcing Conflict Minerals, EtherWAN in collaboration with its manufacturing division, takes the following actions:
- Obtains the warranty of its suppliers that no product or packaging supplied to EtherWAN’s manufacturing location contains Conflict Minerals from any Conflict Regions, further certifies suppliers will refrain from sourcing Conflict Minerals from Conflict Regions and confirms that the mining, refining, shaping and any other manufacturing or processing procedure of any such minerals does not take place in Conflict Regions.
- Obtains the commitment from its suppliers that they will put in a best effort to reinforce their supply chain management and establish relevant management policies or rules to effectively detect and track sources of raw materials, ensure the legality of sources of raw materials, and preclude use of conflict minerals.
- Reserves the right to audit its suppliers on their sources of metal raw materials.
- Require its suppliers to complete investigative questionnaires and provide other relevant information, and guarantee the truthfulness, correctness, and completeness of answers to such questionnaires and information it provides to EtherWAN.
